Making parallel and series circuits - is it an open or closed circuit? And what does that mean exactly?

6th grade SOIL LAB in the field

So....how to make soil interesting? Well, we went out into the school area and took soil samples from all around. The students checked air and soil temperature, looked for any living creatures and soil horizons. Inside the lab, the students checked soil pH and identified soil type using a flow chart and testing texture, color and saturation. And plus it was fun to get OUTSIDE! :)

5th grade conductor or insulator?

Learning about electricity isn't easy. But one of the concepts they worked on is whether something is a conductor (allows the flow of electrons) or an insulator.

4th grade They had to build them first though!

4th grade - BIRD SANCTUARIES

Working collaboratively, each table of students designed and created bird sanctuaries. We have learned that birds are very important to our ecosystem and need a place to feel protected. Our communities grow and encroach on their natural habitats.

They sketched their works and labeled them too. GREAT job 4th grade, it isn't easy to collaborate - but it is fun to create and use Legos!
